Apprenticeship Program: CNC Machinist
My name is Joseph from Yankton, and I am part of the CNC Machinist Apprenticeship Program with Applied Engineering in Yankton, South Dakota. I graduated from Yankton High in 2019, joined the National Guard and completed basic training in December 2019.
After returning home I was looking for an opportunity that would expand some of my skills and gain an education. Learning about CNC Machines interested me. I chose the apprenticeship program because it provided me the chance to meet those aspirations. I have benefited from participating in this program because it has given me a place to learn, ability to get an education and gain on the job experiences. My goals for the future are to do some additional computer training that would complement what I am currently doing.
I would highly encourage anyone interested in an apprenticeship to apply. It is a great way to learn a skill on the job – experience workplace dynamics and get an education.
